During the gold rush, it was those selling the shovels who struck it rich. In today's AI boom, it's the chip makers leading the charge!

NVIDIA's founding story is as inspiring as it gets. Back in 1993, three visionaries, Jensen Huang, Chris Malachowsky, and Curtis Priem, met at a Denny’s in San Jose with a bold idea: to revolutionize graphics processing. With just $40,000 in capital, they founded NVIDIA and set out to develop the first Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), paving the way for accelerated computing.

Jensen Huang, with his experience from AMD and LSI Logic, saw the potential of GPUs to handle complex computations that CPUs couldn't manage efficiently. Despite the initial skepticism and being considered an "unfundable" idea, NVIDIA pushed forward, securing crucial venture capital and support.

But the journey wasn't always smooth. In the early 2000s, NVIDIA faced significant financial challenges that brought them to the brink of bankruptcy. The pivotal moment came with the launch of the GeForce 256, the world's first GPU, which transformed NVIDIA's fortunes and established its dominance in the graphics market. This innovation not only saved the company but also set the stage for future successes.

Fast forward to today, NVIDIA's GPUs aren't just powering the best gaming experiences; they are at the heart of AI and high-performance computing. This visionary thinking has not only transformed the tech landscape but also positioned NVIDIA as a trillion-dollar giant.

In the AI revolution, those who provide the 'shovels'—the essential tools and hardware—are the ones reshaping the future. NVIDIA's journey from a small startup to a global leader is a testament to the power of innovation and perseverance.
